Preview: Paris Saint-Germain vs Lens – prediction, team news, line-ups

Paris Saint-Germain will return to action on Saturday as they take on Lens in a top-of-the-table Ligue 1 showdown.

Les Parisiens will enter the upcoming clash on the back of a 2-0 victory at Nice last weekend.

Lionel Messi opened the scoring for the visitors before Sergio Ramos wrapped up the points with a superb late header.

The latest triumph leaves them six points clear at the top of the table. With just eight games remaining in the season, it would be a remarkable feat if PSG don’t end up winning the league crown.

However, the defending champions haven’t been very convincing in recent weeks as they have lost three of their last five matches in all competitions.

Two of their most recent defeats came at home to Rennes and Lyon who both managed to come away with full points from the Parc des Princes.

On the other hand, Lens are currently enjoying an impressive run of form in the French top-flight.

They extended their winning run to four matches with a 2-1 home success over Strasbourg at the weekend.

Przemyslaw Frankowski put his side into a commanding position by firing the opener after 11 minutes.

Argentine defender Facundo Medina extended the scoreline in the second-half before Kevin Gameiro reduced the deficit with six minutes remaining in the match.

But Gameiro’s goal only served as a small consolation as Les Sang et Or sealed their 18th win of the season.

They are currently second in the Ligue 1 table with just six points off leaders PSG.

Team News

PSG boss Christophe Galtier will be dealing with a few injury issues this week.

Neymar, Presnel Kimpembe and Nordi Mukiele have already been ruled out for the remainder of the season. Renato Sanches will also not be available for around three to four weeks due to an adductor issue.

Meanwhile, Marco Verratti is yet to make a full recovery after sustaining a hamstring injury.

As for Lens, a host of players are currently in the infirmary, including Jimmy Cabot, Wuilker Farinez, Julien Le Cardinal, Adam Buksa and Steven Fortes.
