Preview: Lille vs Paris Saint-Germain – Prediction, Team News, Line-ups

The Ligue 1 fixtures continue on Sunday as Paris Saint-Germain take on Lille at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy. 

Paulo Fonseca’s side are currently occupying fourth spot in the table, while their rivals this weekend are sitting comfortably at the top. 

Match Preview 

Lille will enter the upcoming clash on the back of a 3-0 victory over Klaksvíkar Ítróttarfelag in the Europa Conference League. 

Les Dogues have topped Group A after picking up 14 points from their six matches, but they will now turn their attention to the Ligue 1.  

Paulo Fonseca’s men were expected to register full points against Clermont Foot last week but were held to a disappointing stalemate. 

Both sides had their chances but neither managed to find the target, with the game deservedly ending in a goalless draw. 

Lille have had a good season so far, with 27 points from 15 games seeing them climb to fourth in the Ligue 1 table. 

They are unbeaten in their last 14 matches in all competitions and have one of the best defences in the French league. 

But Paulo Fonseca’s side now face a challenging test as they host Paris Saint-Germain at their home stadium on Sunday. 

PSG have been far from convincing in Europe this campaign but they edged out AC Milan to finish second and make it to the knockouts, thanks to a 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund earlier this week. 

The Parisians will now return to action in Ligue 1, where they have been cruising at the top with a four-point lead. 

They have lost only once this season, and that came way back in September. 

Since then, Luis Enrique’s side have won nine of their previous 10 top-flight matches, with their most recent success coming against Nantes at the Parc des Princes. 

Mostafa Mohamed equalised for the visitors after Bradley Barcola scored the opening goal in the 41st-minute. 

But PSG had the last laugh as Randal Kolo Muani struck a late winner to maintain their lead at the summit. 

Team News 

Lille will be missing Tiago Djalo on Sunday as he is recovering from an ACL injury. His teammate Ivan Cavaleiro will also be sidelined due to fitness problems. 

As for PSG, Gianluigi Donnarumma will still be unavailable as he will serve his suspension for the red card against Le Havre. Sergio Rico will also be out of action this weekend due to a head injury.
