Manchester City are reportedly very close to completing the signing of Rennes winger Jeremy Doku.
The Athletic reports the Premier League giants have agreed a transfer fee worth around €65 million with the Red and Blacks.
There was interest from other clubs but Doku only wanted to join Pep Guardiola’s side.
He has already agreed personal terms with City and is now set to pen a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium, per Sacha Tavolieri
The 21-year-old will reportedly fly to Manchester on Tuesday with his medical tests scheduled on the following day.
Despite suffering a series of injuries last season, Doku played an important role in helping Rennes secure a top-four finish in the Ligue 1.
He featured in 29 appearances across all competitions, netting six goals and registering two assists.
The Belgium international scored in their opening league fixture against Metz but he was on the bench in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Lens.
Rennes fans are now unlikely to see him when their team hosts Le Havre this weekend, which can be watched via Ligue 1 streams, as he is now on the verge of joining Manchester City.
The Citizens want to sign Doku as a replacement for Riyad Mahrez who joined Al-Ahli earlier in the summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old came to the Roazhon Park in 2020 in a €26m move from Belgian outfit Anderlecht.
Since then, he has made 91 appearances in all competitions, with 12 goals to his name.
Jeremy has mainly played on the right wing but he has also been featured on the left occasionally. He is highly rated for his dribbling skills and ability to hold onto the ball.
